A film with an effective and iconic beginning. I think I've seen the speech Alec Baldwin's character gives in the intro at least 3 times, but I may have only ever watched the film all the way through once. The speech scene sets up a conflict that draws the audience in fast. You could probably summarize the plot of Glengarry Glen Ross very quickly for someone who hasn't seen it, not much actually happens outside of very extensive conversations, usually one-on-ones between any two of five focus characters at a time. I know the film is based off a play, which I've never seen, but It would have been nice to mix in some of the more action oriented or comedic events that happen off screen into this adaptation, to break up the basically endless dialogues.
