We are an anti-woke / anti-corporate movie review site with thousands of filters that help you parse through the BS. We aggregate the Culture War so you can circumvent it. Our competitors let bot reviews manipulate their scores and they self censor legit grievances for fear of being “problematic.” We think decentralization, aggregation, and politically incorrect anonymous reviews are the solution to helping you find reviews you can trust, and art that doesn’t suck.
(We obsess over race, politics, & finance so you don’t have to.)
Right now big business & wokeness are the main culprits ruining art. In the future it may be A.I. manipulating public opinion. Nowadays TV & movies are being replaced by political streamers & the video game industry. Maybe someday it will be all about VR worlds. Who knows? No matter how society & technology evolve, we will shift our efforts to help you find quality art in all its forms, and to combat disinfo / propaganda / corporate greed while keeping your finger on the pulse.
Using The Site:
This means that there are LGBT tag(s) on the IMDb page for that movie or show.
For example, “Ambulance” has the rainbow flag here:
When clicked it shows the tags matched from the IMDb keywords here:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4998632/keywords
Often this is a false positive or a very brief scene so take it with a grain of salt. If it causes concern, explore the links for more information. For example, when you check the IMDb parental guide it will tell you that there is a gay couple kissing at some point:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4998632/parentalguide
To be clear, here at ZR we don’t really care about LGBT stuff. There are several LGBT critics featured on the site. But it seems that the slippery slope wasn’t a fallacy after all. The ceaseless pushing didn’t end after same sex marriage. Just sayin…
And at the very least, most normal audience members simply don’t want this crap forced onto their children. So use these content warnings at your own discretion. A good rule of thumb is if you see “sex“, “transgender” , or multiple gay tags instead of just 1, then it’s likely a significant aspect of the plot. Otherwise, don’t worry about it too much. Even harmless classics like “GroundHog Day” have some gay character somewhere:
If you have suggestions on how to improve our LGBT Content Warning, please comment below. And for transparency’s sake, here is the list of words we search in IMDb’s tags:
If you think any should be removed or added, comment below.
This is the same as the LGBT Content warnings, and with the same method of searching IMDb tags. (See above for more info.) The illuminati pyramid is just a good icon for “woke” because of the eyeball being awake, and because woke people are useful idiots for globohomo elites. But this isn’t a conspiracy tag for MK Ultra stuff. And in all honesty, isn’t very accurate because woke stuff is usually about how they depict topics, not the mere presence of certain topics. Which is why it says “possibly woke elements” and not “woke elements.” A movie with sexism or racism can be very based.
Likewise, it may be important to recognize how movies pushing liberal values back then gradually slipped into what we have now. But it’s pretty obvious that a “strong female character” in a movie from 1939 is not going to be very woke. And a lot of anime is chock-full of strong female characters or environmentalist/anti-capitalist themes, but they’re the farthest thing from woke.
So use this content warning with a massive grain of salt. Or a really small one… whichever one implies more skepticism and caution.
And for transparency’s sake, here is the list of keywords we scan:
If you have any suggestions on how to improve our automated woke scan, please comment below.
Support is a boycott suggestion and is meant to be a way for us to consolidate our efforts in “voting with our dollars.” Obviously, Hollywood has proven that they will sacrifice profits for the sake of their agenda, but they’re not as monolithic as you’d think. And people still respond to incentives.
So the 3 options are:
Pay to watch:
This movie is worth your time, and you should support the creators financially so we get more content like it.
Watch it AND give them money.
Watch if free:
The show is entertaining, but you shouldn’t reward the creators for whatever reason. Perhaps you don’t want to support preachy celebs who hate their fans. Or maybe you enjoy superhero movies and nostalgia bait, but don’t want to encourage Hollywood to continue making them in such a high ratio.
That’s when you’d click the “Watch Now” button and choose from one of the “Free” links:
( Use at your own risk. ZeitgeistReviews does not endorse any of the links and we don’t condone piracy. And we definitely discourage you from using this Reddit thread that shows you all of the places to pirate movies & tv. )
Watch it BUT don’t give them money.
Skip it:
This means the movie wasn’t even worth your time. Maybe it’s so full of Woke crap that you’ll want to pull your hair out half way through. Or it could simply just be a piece of s**t, and not in a “so bad it’s good” kind of way.
Don’t watch it AND don’t give them money.
( Note: We have expanded our site from just TV & Movies. Now we have games and will add music/books/etc. So the wording might change but the sentiment is still the same for every “Support” section. )
We will curate these links eventually and allow you to search them all at once. In the meantime, you’ll have to click them individually. Sorry. 🙏🏻
Disclaimer:
We would never knowingly host piracy links on ZR so you must be mistaken. But some people accuse our “free” link section of including piracy so that’s why we are discussing piracy here. We do not condone piracy of any kind! Follow all of your local copyright laws as well as any international ones. We do not store any files on our servers, we only link to unaffiliated 3rd party sites which also don’t host any copyrighted material and only link to services unaffiliated with ZeitgeistReviews. Just as Reddit is allowed to have a directory of links for informational purposes only, so can we. Please direct all DMCA claims to the respective owners of alleged copyright infringement.
This PSA makes it clear. If you hate globohomo media and want to destroy it, piracy will do that. You don’t want that, do you? :^)
Seriously, though. If you like the art & entertainment please visit their homepage and support the creators. We obviously don’t judge “try before you buy” but let’s try to fund good art as much as we can. Especially indie stuff and non-weaboo anime. Otherwise, we have no one to blame for the deluge of capesh*t, reboots, and fanservice loli crap.
Furthermore, visit all “free” links at your own discretion. Use VirusTotal.com or a similar service to scan any urls you think are sus. The urls likely won’t get a perfect score & annoying popups are to be expected, but please report any links that have severe violations so we can remove them.
Thank you!
We scan IMDb keywords & metadata for reboots and sequels to give you a friendly reminder that member berries are a drug and should be treated like any other vice. Only in moderation.
Reboots, sequels, franchises, and adaptations have always been a cash cow for Hollywood. But the reason they are leaning so hard into it nowadays is because they refuse to remedy their woke induced collapse in viewership. If you keep falling for their nostalgia bait, things won’t get any better.
The recycle icon only shows for reboots and sequels because A LOT of Hollywood bases its stories off of foreign originals. And art history is one continuous inverted human centipede, with humanity standing on the shoulders of giants. Even Shakespeare based a lot of his plays on old fables.
We take this for granted but look at ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs. It looks like a 3rd grader who doesn’t understand the human body or can’t draw someone facing the viewer. The torso and legs have awkward 90º orientations.
And then later on they got statues with unified orientation and noticed humans don’t have their legs perfectly symmetrical. But they still look stiff and unnatural. Why?
Well, at first ancient Greeks in Attica copied the Egyptians with a Kouros style for statutes:
But then later in Greek history someone realized that IRL humans put our body weight on one side.
This gradual progress in realism went on and on and on. Until the camera BTFO-ed artists and they had to start going abstract.
But now A.I. can’t even get hands right.
lol. lmao even.
Anyways, the point is we’re fine with homages and inspiration in this beautiful cycle of art evolution. However, there is some overlap so we still warn you about adaptations, remakes, and franchises. But only show the recycle icon for reboots/sequels.
TL;DR
This is just a warning for if it was produced by one of the top megacorp companies.
Our main goal is to help you “find good sh*t that doesn’t suck.” But that’s not a very informative motto for the site. So we elaborate with the anti-woke/anti-corporate, pro creative control stuff. Originally, we put “pro indie” but that gives the wrong idea that we are against big budget films and only want underground Troma type content.
But that’s not the case. Over the years of building this gloriously autistic database we noticed some patterns to identify bad movies. You all know this intuitively but maybe didn’t know how to articulate it or wouldn’t think of all these combined filters as a quick way to quantify it. Now you do.

Put briefly, there is a sweet spot with art. That cliché phrase: “I liked their older stuff before they sold out, man,” is cliché for a reason. It’s not only people trying to feel superior and earn hipster brownie points. There’s also truth to it. It seems artists (of any sort) need to get past that 10,000 hour rule that Malcolm Gladwell popularized, but maintain creative control in order to produce quality work. Because just as we see with the collapse of empires and the bureaufication of institutions, there are unconscious forces, (like the free market & algorithms), as well as parasitic members of society, (Karens, Disney CEO’s, & quota hires), that hijack the output of such greatness. Until the artist is sucked dry like Brittany Spears or Michael Jackson. Or at best, sold off and passed through the digestive tract of 7 different committees, HR departments, marketing teams, and shareholder meetings until it’s turned into a former husk of itself like Family Guy or The Simpsons.
There are clearly multiple variables at play here because big budget 80’s or big budget Japanese stuff is still pretty high quality. It’s a symptom of America’s Culture War and our own struggles as a declining empire fighting subversion. Either way, take this all with a grain of salt. Just because some megacorp company produced it, or it has a 500 million dollar budget doesn’t mean it’s bad. But if it was made after 2010, it’s a reboot, and it has 3 LGBT & 3 Woke keywords linked to it, you should save yourself the disappointment.
P.S. We will add episode # & season # filters so you can find more stuff like “Samurai Champloo” and “Kids on the Slope” instead of never-ending shows like “One Piece.”
As well as adding financial bell curves for that year so you have a frame of reference & know if it’s in that sweet spot of having enough resources available, but still letting artists wield the creative control – (not the suits).

Disclaimer: We genuinely love everyone and welcome everyone. We don’t want a far right echo chamber with only complaints about movies. Because 1.) it would be an unintentional honey pot and 2.) it would be as useless as GlassDoor.com is. If you think we’re BS-ing you, you clearly know nothing about this corner of the internet and need to lurk more.
Anyways, for a breakdown click on the actor’s image and it will reveal a Matrix behind the scenes step-by-step process of how we automated the race and gender calculations. They’re pretty impressive and way better than UCLA, GLAAD, and USC which are supposedly experts on Hollywood diversity. And unlike them, we are transparent about our methodology so you can replicate the results. However, there are surely errors like facial recognition thinking squinted eyes means they’re Asian, or Black & White photos being tagged as African-American. So please submit crowdsource corrections. But first click the actor image to check all the sources & verify the methodology:
So race is real, but lefties are right when they point out it gets blurry at the edges and some categories are social constructs. The best example of this is how the U.S. Census makes Hispanic an ethnicity and there are non-White Hispanics & White Hispanics. We wanted to use a method similar to the Canadian Census which uses country of origin for consistency. Obviously it gets messy because of Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Southern Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Andorra, etc. But we had to quantify the abstract somehow. For that reason, after lots of experimentation and back and forth we decided to narrow the races into these 8 categories:
Arab, Asian, Black, Indian, Jewish, Latino, Mixed / Other, White
Since ethnicelebs.com doesn’t have a consistent % of each parent and ethnic breakdown, the best we could hope for was to merely consider a person mixed if their verdict includes different categories. ( We ignore “possibly other.”) And if every ethnic background is under the same parent category the verdict shows the parent category.
For example, German/Welsh/Irish would be “White.” Or Japanese, Chinese, Korean would be “Asian.” However, since India Eisley has “Latino” subcategories AND “White” subcategories her verdict was “Mixed/Other.”
But to be clear, our definition of Latino includes the full spectrum and we know many Latinos are White. There was just no other way to have a uniform methodology that could be automated and applied to such a massive database of actors.
Here’s our full array. Let us know if you disagree with any:
But that’s why we allow the option for users to submit crowdsource corrections:
TL;DR
We are a populist aggregate and collect any reviews we find online. Journos and official sites are okay too, but they don’t get any special treatment because decentralization is the goal. Please submit any links you find online. 🙏🏻
Originally, we started by collecting movie reviews only from people who were right of center politically. But as we expanded we realized we needed more reviews in general, not just from the anti-woke subculture. ‘Cuz regardless of this Culture War crap we’re all sick of, the main issues for finding reviews you can trust are:
• bots & Fiverr shills review bombing
• PC police censoring legit grievances
• A.I. gaslighting people in forums
• Big Tech algorithms shoving monetized kosher critics down your throat
A collection of anti-woke bloggers and YouTubers helps solve the first two somewhat. But in order to tackle the latter two it’s important to have a wide variety of noname video reviews. Because DeepFakes are easy to spot and very expensive. Besides, importing reviews from BitChute/Odysee/Rumble is another proxy for finding “based” critics since all the normie neoliberal status quo types can speak freely and get monetized on YouTube.
But I digress… The main point is that even status quo apolitical normies that post on YouTube are very valuable in getting a feel for public opinion. So long as they have less than 100k subs or so. Remember when YouTube first started? The comfy DIY grassroots vibe it had, before the algorithm raped everyone’s soul and literally turned them into “content creators?”
Yeah, we want every page on ZR to be like that. Just random dudes in front of the camera geeking out.
But while we improve our relevancy algorithm, and gradually import all these reviews it would help if you added any reviews you find online too. Just click the “+add” button, and copy ‘n paste your link.
