To be clear, here at ZR we don’t really care about LGBT stuff. There are several LGBT critics featured on the site. But it seems that the slippery slope wasn’t a fallacy after all. The ceaseless pushing didn’t end after same sex marriage. Just sayin…
   
And at the very least, most normal audience members simply don’t want this crap forced onto their children. So use these content warnings at your own discretion. A good rule of thumb is if you see “sex“, “transgender” , or multiple gay tags instead of just 1, then it’s likely a significant aspect of the plot. Otherwise, don’t worry about it too much. This is the same as the LGBT Content warnings, and with the same method of searching IMDb tags. (See above for more info.) The illuminati pyramid is just a good icon for “woke” because of the eyeball being awake, and because woke people are useful idiots for globohomo elites. But this isn’t a conspiracy tag for MK Ultra stuff. And in all honesty, isn’t very accurate because woke stuff is usually about how they depict topics, not the mere presence of certain topics. But it’s pretty obvious that a “strong female character” in a movie from 1939 is not going to be very woke. And a lot of anime is chock-full of strong female characters or environmentalist/anti-capitalist themes, but they’re the farthest thing from woke.

Reboots, sequels, franchises, and adaptations have always been a cash cow for Hollywood. But the reason they are leaning so hard into it nowadays is because they refuse to remedy their woke induced collapse in viewership. If you keep falling for their nostalgia bait, things won’t get any better.

The recycle icon only shows for reboots and sequels because A LOT of Hollywood bases its stories off of foreign originals. And art history is one continuous inverted human centipede, with humanity standing on the shoulders of giants. Even Shakespeare based a lot of his plays on old fables.
  
 


 

We take this for granted but look at ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs. It looks like a 3rd grader who doesn’t understand the human body or can’t draw someone facing the viewer. The torso and legs have awkward 90º orientations.

Our main goal is to help you “find good sh*t that doesn’t suck.” But that’s not a very informative motto for the site. So we elaborate with the anti-woke/anti-corporate, pro creative control stuff. Originally, we put “pro indie” but that gives the wrong idea that we are against big budget films and only want underground Troma type content.

Put briefly, there is a sweet spot with art. That cliché phrase: “I liked their older stuff before they sold out, man,” is cliché for a reason. It’s not only people trying to feel superior and earn hipster brownie points. There’s also truth to it. It seems artists (of any sort) need to get past that 10,000 hour rule that Malcolm Gladwell popularized, but maintain creative control in order to produce quality work. Because just as we see with the collapse of empires and the bureaufication of institutions, there are unconscious forces, (like the free market & algorithms), as well as parasitic members of society, (Karens, Disney CEO’s, & quota hires), that hijack the output of such greatness. Until the artist is sucked dry like Brittany Spears or Michael Jackson. Or at best, sold off and passed through the digestive tract of 7 different committees, HR departments, marketing teams, and shareholder meetings until it’s turned into a former husk of itself like Family Guy or The Simpsons. 
  
 
There are clearly multiple variables at play here because big budget 80’s or big budget Japanese stuff is still pretty high quality. It’s a symptom of America’s Culture War and our own struggles as a declining empire fighting subversion. Either way, take this all with a grain of salt. Just because some megacorp company produced it, or it has a 500 million dollar budget doesn’t mean it’s bad. But if it was made after 2010, it’s a reboot, and it has 3 LGBT & 3 Woke keywords linked to it, you should save yourself the disappointment.

So race is real, but lefties are right when they point out it gets blurry at the edges and some categories are social constructs. The best example of this is how the U.S. Census makes Hispanic an ethnicity and there are non-White Hispanics & White Hispanics. We wanted to use a method similar to the Canadian Census which uses country of origin for consistency. Obviously it gets messy because of Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Southern Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Andorra, etc. But we had to quantify the abstract somehow. For that reason, after lots of experimentation and back and forth we decided to narrow the races into these 8 categories:
     

Arab, Asian, Black, Indian, Jewish, Latino, Mixed / Other, White
    

Since ethnicelebs.com doesn’t have a consistent % of each parent and ethnic breakdown, the best we could hope for was to merely consider a person mixed if their verdict includes different categories. ( We ignore “possibly other.”) And if every ethnic background is under the same parent category the verdict shows the parent category.
  

For example, German/Welsh/Irish would be “White.” Or Japanese, Chinese, Korean would be “Asian.” However, since India Eisley has “Latino” subcategories AND “White” subcategories her verdict was “Mixed/Other.”
   

 
But to be clear, our definition of Latino includes the full spectrum and we know many Latinos are White. There was just no other way to have a uniform methodology that could be automated and applied to such a massive database of actors.

Originally, we started by collecting movie reviews only from people who were right of center politically. But as we expanded we realized we needed more reviews in general, not just from the anti-woke subculture. ‘Cuz regardless of this Culture War crap we’re all sick of, the main issues for finding reviews you can trust are:
  
 
• bots & Fiverr shills review bombing
• PC police censoring legit grievances
• A.I. gaslighting people in forums
• Big Tech algorithms shoving monetized kosher critics down your throat

 
A collection of anti-woke bloggers and YouTubers helps solve the first two somewhat. But in order to tackle the latter two it’s important to have a wide variety of noname video reviews. Because DeepFakes are easy to spot and very expensive. Besides, importing reviews from BitChute/Odysee/Rumble is another proxy for finding “based” critics since all the normie neoliberal status quo types can speak freely and get monetized on YouTube. 
   

 
 
But I digress… The main point is that even status quo apolitical normies that post on YouTube are very valuable in getting a feel for public opinion. So long as they have less than 100k subs or so. Remember when YouTube first started? The comfy DIY grassroots vibe it had, before the algorithm raped everyone’s soul and literally turned them into “content creators?”
