From the age of 16, 50-year-old Carmen (Natascha McElhone - The Truman Show) has served her brother who is a priest, in the tradition of her Maltese community. When her brother dies, she is freed from servitude, in this feel-good coming-of-age drama (of sorts) from writer/director Valerie Buhagiar. Carmen makes full use of her freedom, on her own terms, and dives joyfully into a love affair with a lovely younger man, Paulo (Steven Love). You go, girl!
