I really liked BODIES BODIES BODIES but I didn't think BABYGIRL, by the same director, worked the first time I watched it, so I decided to watch again before reviewing.
I still don't think it really works, and I think I pinpointed why: There's no real dramatic tension because the filmmakers are too busy insisting that Romy is basically correct to do what she does. She's right to be a CEO sleeping with an intern, she's right to put her family at risk. Because ... sexual fulfillment? There's only one character who really displays anger about the situation and she quickly uses that to blackmail Romy and a more interesting, more pointed movie about the current moment of gender politics might have focused more closely on that.
