This is the most reliable data source for accurate ethnic breakdowns of famous people. Often the information is crowdsourced by users and they cite all their sources (family trees, obituaries, census archives, etc.) on the bottom of the page. The only issue is converting their ambiguous and inconsistent verdicts into quantifiable variables.

Notes
Many Latinos check "White" or "Other" on the Census. So this overlaps with "Mixed" race and "White."

Also, when there was a discrepancy with the percentage listed on the Wikipedia table and our calculated numbers, the Wiki table's numbers were used. Likewise, when the population total was missing from the Census pdf, the estimate was calculated using the percentage from the Wiki table.

NOTE: It turns out that the reason America doesn't have a separate "Latino" race is because the League of Latin American Citizens protested against discrimination towards Mexicans and got themselves to legally be considered "White."

Check the research links in our Google Doc for more info.
If there were any inconsistencies with percentages calculated using our Census data, the Jewish Data Bank percentages were the ones used. Also please review the Jewish Data Bank pdf to understand the difference between the "Core" Jewish population and the "Extended" / "Law of Return" Jewish populations. We are displaying the "Core" Jewish populations since that is what the Jewish Data Bank and Wikipedia articles chose.

Also, the 1942 population estimates were used for the 1940 row. For the 2000 estimates, the "Core" definition was not used, so we used the 5.2 mil broader estimate instead of the 4.3 mil estimate since the 5.2 broader estimate seemed too drastic of a drop and the definitions weren't congruent with Core and Law of Return.

Educational
0/5

Intended to entertain rather than educate.

Message
3/5

Positive message about value that relationship with grandparents can add to kids'/people's lives. Also a lesson about why war/violent conflict resolution should always be avoided.

Role model
1/5

While Grandpa does engage in "war" with his grandson, he never reacts to the pranks and sabotage with yelling. No diversity of note within main characters/cast.

Violence
3/5

Slapstick live-action violence that would result in serious injury or even death in real life: being electrocuted and multiple falls from high places onto hard surfaces. A "fight "involves a lot of swinging and food being thrown. Remarks about a bully punching a kid in the face. A woman tackles and threatens a minor with her fist but doesn't actually hit him.

Sex
1/5

It's implied that a teen couple is interrupted while kissing, but actual kissing isn't shown. A man's pants are accidentally pulled off; glimpse of his underwear from the backside.

Language
2/5

Language includes "wiseass," "hell," "suck," "dummy," and the word "booby trap" being turned into "boobies." A kid says "shut up" and is instantly reprimanded by a younger child that "shut up is a bad word." Some bathroom humor.

Consumerism
2/5

Brands and stores featured positively include Fry's Electronics, Skyzone, Nissan Pathfinder, and Lyft.

Drugs
2/5

Adults spike their own drinks with hooch from a flask.

Sex
1/5

Couple kisses in a long shot.

Language
2/5

h-3, a-1, d-1, 3 omg's, often saying "god", “Holy heck,” several notions that the character will say the f-word, but changing it last minute, vulgar words/phrases like "Welcome to hell", "suck", "boobies", etc.

Violence
2/5

Man gets kicked and pelleted with food by senior citizens, three adults hoist a teen into a trash bin, mom tackles a teen boy, multiple accidents happen in this film.

Drugs
1/5

Possible alcohol in a glass.

Nudity
1/5

Implied, hidden nudity as pants fall down.
