Message
4/5

Battles sexual stereotyping. Encourages acceptance of and respect for sexual diversity. Shines a comic light on unresolved prejudices and social attitudes regarding homosexuality.

Role model
3/5

Heroine is brave, resourceful, compassionate, willing to risk all to assert her individuality. She is sexually liberated and not above using a bit of comic larceny to survive. Sexual roles and alternative lifestyles are at heart of story. Avoids negative stereotyping of homosexuals, uses humor and empathy as it portrays gay diversity. Dim-witted blonde is deliberate caricature. No characters of color.

Violence
2/5

Slapstick action; no serious injuries. Several nightclub brawls with multiple participants in chaos -- punching, falls, furniture crunching, tackling. Hefty punches are thrown in several scenes. A brief bloody boxing match. Aftermath includes bruises, bloody faces, torn clothes.

Sex
3/5

Shifting sexual roles and gender preferences are central. Homosexuality is dealt with openly in many scenes: male couples shown in bed together; a kiss; a musical performance about gay life. Heterosexuality includes kissing, couples in bed, embracing, references to impotence and faking orgasms. Drag queens perform. Chorus girls are in skimpy costumes. A scene in a club shows many gay couples dancing.

Language
3/5

Profanity and slurs throughout: "damn," "ass," "s--t," "pee," "piss off," "son of a bitch," "horny," "for Christ's sake," "hell," "faggot," "queer," "old queen," "fairy."

Consumerism
0/5

Brief visuals: Coca-Cola, Chanel, Ricard liquor.

Drugs
2/5

Social drinking throughout: in bars, restaurants, at home. One drunk sequence. Smoking: cigarettes and cigars.
