I watched this film at my nephews house party, last sunday, being mostly surrounded by teenagers, chips, some beer (but not too much) and two bossy aunts, it wasnt the highlight of my weekend, I was expecting something much worse, but overal its an fairly enjoyable action-romance film, about an npc in a video-game who becomes self-aware. What was surprising about the film is, though it has this light wokeness around it that you see in most contemporary film now a days, is that the two main bad guys are not White, while the three main good guys are, which makes the entire film a metaphore about ethnic cliques corrupting video gaming? That was probaly not the intention behind it, but it was the end result, combine this with the uncaring jab at white privilege, the money grubbing South-Asian boss, the morally questionable Indian sidekick to the boss, the White couple who have their code stolen, the White npc, etc and you kinda get a story thats gives this impression. Still, its not really a good film, would not bother watching.
