My girlfriend insisted we watch this movie so I gave it a go. I was impressed an am glad I watched it. Turns out Bradley Cooper directed it and it is a remake that's been done over and over. Now I want to watch the other versions for comparison but won't bother any time soon. Lady Gaga was surprisingly a good actress and Dave Chapelle makes a cameo appearance. Overall I did not know what to expect going in and was pleasantly surprised. Aside from the drag queen aspect of the film (Lady Gaga's origin story) there was minimal Hollywood BS. Five things stood out in that regard: 1.) When Lady Gaga punches a cop in a bar it didn't make any sense and was execute poorly. You can't really tell what's going on. It was horrible acting and also very unbelievable since it's a little girl decking a man. 2.) When Bradley Cooper is black out drunk and wipes bagel on Lady Gaga's face she does an incredibly fake smile that took you out of the movie. I can relate to codependency and alcoholism and all that. But no one would giggle like a 1950's sitcom food fight in that scenario. She should have acted drunk too or something. 3.) The scummy manager character definitely wouldn't have been a British guy. Such ruthless handlers in showbiz tend to be of a certain tribe... Michael Jackson on his (((handlers))) :

Latoya Jackson on Michael being murdered:

But as Dave Chapelle said: "If they're Blackย it's aย gang. Ifย Italian, the mob. Ifย Jews, it's aย coincidence and you should never talk about it." The exploitive nature of the music industry, that is the central focus of the film, is exactly what Kanye is trying to expose right now. Unfortunately "A Star Is Born"ย  only has American flags in the background during the scenes of Lady Gaga's selling out, and tries to criticize the Capitalistic nature of American Showbiz. (Similar to what "Avatar" did during the marine sergeant's speech.) Perhaps if Hollywood outsiders had the balls to point out the other big (((variable))) linked to exploitation, the industry would change.
4.) Bradley Cooper has a song about letting "the old ways die out" and it could be interpreted as his alcoholic father bringing him up and the broken home he idolizes. Or about the toxicity of the music industry. But also it felt like there was a subtext of anti-Patriarchy, anti-White Cis-Hetero males. This may seem like a stretch but considering Lady Gaga is lamenting her big nose and says: Yeah. No, it's not bullsh*t,

because, you go into these rooms

and thereโ€™s all these f**king men

in there and theyโ€™re just staring

at you, listening to your record

going, โ€˜Oh, you sound great, but,

you know, you donโ€™t look so

great.โ€™

Right before punching a man in the face. The fact that the industry is portrayed as )))men((( makes the subtext about White men.
5.) In real life, Lady Gaga is seen with Marina Abramovic in a cannibal themed party and there are interviews with her praising Marina's bizarre teaching methods. (Being left naked in the woods.) For some reason I doubt that Lady Gaga partakes in any of the weird Satanic pedo sh*t associated with Hollywood, but Marina probably does. And if neither of them do, they glorify it and hang out with politicians who like them for hinting at such demonic sh*t. Because of this, it's hard to say you should support the film financially and I'm glad I pirated it. Obviously these gripes are nitpicky and you should expect it of any modern blockbuster film. Besides, I was fully immersed in the plot & characters and forgot about most of that while watching. If you get a chance to watch it, you should.
