The Night Agent is, in so many words, seemingly written and produced with the sole intention of shoehorning "muh stronk wahmin" characters in at every turn, to the point I was shocked that the show's decision-making board wasn't helmed entirely by women. Every female character exudes a snarky, insufferable arrogance, and every male character puts on a simpering display of deference towards them. The sequence of events portrayed in the film are so utterly unrealistic they're almost comical. Diversity casting abounds, and unintentionally backhanded. After all, one could argue the only way the daughter of the U.S. Vice President could be feasibly kidnapped is if you assigned two incompetent negroes to her Secret Service detail. Perhaps having a woman for POTUS (and another for her Chief of Staff) is the reason things could get as corrupt as they're portrayed. I don't really even know where I'm going with this review anymore. It's all so tiresome.
