A surprise of a comedy, after seeing a particular clip from this film with one of the boys saying "Jews, sp*cs and negros and now a girl" I decided to check it out. Now I was expecting to get a multiculti, anti-racism kind of sports-film, where everyone got together in the end and we get nice good feelings... In staid it's just very crude, politically incorrect and the message doesn't really work very well. It's enjoyably to watch a film of this type and not get too much feel-good, the coach is a drunk, the kids fight, they end up second place, we get a girl that really doesn't want to be a tomboy anymore, the boys call each other sissies etc. In other words its very much a slice of life film, depicting how it's like to be young. Recommended because it's a enjoyably film and because it's slightly politically incorrect at times.
