Happened to watch this Dutch comedy show on YouTube this evening "A man goes to the doctor" is a Dutch sketch-show in the tradition of your old grandpa's funny magazine, it's basically a long series of jokes on marriage, drinking in the pub, being a dick to your fat girlfriend, cheating and yes, a visit to your local doctor. And dammit, these jokes are total boomer tier, every episodes I recognize at least one of them from the many joke books my grandpa used to collect, if not that, I heard them from some of my older coworkers. But that really doesn't destroy the fun of this series. Even though it's mostly low brow, and some of the sketches are hit and miss, you can't help but admire a comedy show where you can take any joke, repeat it at work or in the pub and still have it be funny. Basically to give you an idea of the kind of humour: "A boy tells his mom he saw dad cheating on her, she gets angry, when the father returns he asks her son to repeat exactly what he saw, he does and then ends it, you know just what mom did with uncle Henk. Mother turns around and says: I need to go do the potatoes" "a posh couple are in a restaurant, the wife orders a a complete meal, but orders a salad and vegetable juice for her husband. Ah says the waiter, your husband is on a diet. No says the woman, but if he keeps shagging around like a rabbit, he will eat like a rabbit." Or just really dry stuff like: "A man walks up to an ugly woman, says to her, has anyone ever said you where pretty, the woman answers with no. The man says, of course they havent" "A man accidentally falls in the mud, he says dammit, look at me, I look like a pig. Yes his wife answers and you are also covered in mud" "A wife asks her husband, honey how much do you love me, oh says the husband, like all the stars in heaven. But honey, it's day! Exactly says the husband." Anyway, great for a 20 minute laugh and some new material to tell my coworkers.
