I used to keep up with Stephen Chows works but this was the last one I had seen. I was hoping this one would harken back to his kung fu hustle days but this one was a bit milk toast compared to his two hit films imo, it's a bit romantic comedy meets zany when it comes to the mermaid fish people. I may have to watch his works back to back. I just know this one was trying to be more about romance and the environment. But seeing how the mermaid is trying to save her home it doesn't really come off as too preachy. It was an ok popcorn flick.
