A made-for-tv production, this film worst aspect is the picture and sound quality, which aren't very good, but if you look past it you get an average, but well written story about a family surviving apocalyptic event that wipes out most of humanity. Bonus is that it's not some kind of Mad Max-ripoff, the films is to old for that, but in staid we get a very family-focused, survival drama which at times can be endearing, the family has their troubles, but they don't bicker like so many modern shows. The science behind this film is wonky as hell and it feels like they made it up as they went, a solar flare, causes a virus, that turns people into dust, only some people turn into dust immediately, while others take several days, while some people are immune to the virus?? Another bonus: Since only those with immunity survive and there are only White people in the film, it is save to assume the virus killed all black people, if that wasn't the case we would be seeing them going wild through the streets playing ghetto music and shooting people.
