2.8 Stars Killers of The Flower Moon is like many of Scorsese's previous long films, but every beat and rythem is more shallow and delayed. Robert De Niro's  mastermind of a character is even labeled as a Jew for his actions by another character much like Casino. The first half of the film is painfully drawn out while the second half, which is far more interesting due characters having external conflict and internal conflict, feels rushed. I avoided Killers of The Flower Moon for a long time, assuming it would be a ham fisted white guilt film. After completing the film, I'd say its less obtuse than my original assessment. There are even occasions in the film that have a humorous quality; painting the Osage elders Indians as windbags who talk a lot about preserving their warrior heritage while, doing nothing to deal with the drunkeness, frivolous spending, and early deaths of their young adults, who are enlarge marrying white men, which is implicity watering down their culture. Of course, the film still has scenes in which Indian spirituality is shown to have truer premonitions and impact on lives than the catholicism that the Osage community practices, which is portrayed as hollow and disconnected. In short, I wouldn't go out of your way to watch it, there are plenty of better Scorsese films to see that do the same things, but better. At the same time, I don't think its bad enough that it needs to be avoided all together.
