The Real World (1992)TV series

Before the age of social media, creators Jonathan Murray and Mary-Ellis Bunim developed a TV cocktail that mixed the heady buzz of a young cast’s narcissism and exhibitionism with the viewing public’s thirst for voyeurism, launching the age of “reality TV.” Seven young adults from diverse backgrounds are stuck in a house and live together on camera. Behind the scenes, producers edit and engineer the interactions to create explosive emotional confrontations, hookups, and conflict. And, damn, if it’s not habit-forming! This series ran for 33 seasons.
