Power (2014)TV series

In this crime family melodrama, there are enough betrayals, revenge, murder, and assorted skullduggery to make Macbeth and Oedipus blush. The show follows the rise to power of drug lord James 'Ghost' St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) and his wife Tasha (Naturi Naughton). Ghost yearns to shepherd his criminal empire into legitimacy, a la Michael Corleone, but his dream makes him vulnerable to those who crave his power more than his ideals, especially his ambitious, resentful son Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.). Keep your friends close, but your conniving family closer! This series ran for six seasons. Power received the 2022 ReFrame Stamp for its gender-balanced hiring.
