Successful entrepreneur and philanthropist Eli Timoner lived a life of achievement but, after an accident, suffered a massive stroke. His health steadily deteriorated until, at age 93, he announced he wanted assisted suicide. As a California resident, the practice is legal, only requiring a 15-day cooling-off period to make sure of the decision. This deeply personal documentary by filmmaker Ondi Timoner (Mapplethorpe), who is Eli’s daughter, chronicles this 15-day process with verité-style footage of Eli and his family confronting love and death.
