At the edge of the Civil War, Missouri Bushwhackers and Union Jayhawkers are in a heated battle. Jake Roedel (Tobey Maguire - Brothers) and Jack Chiles (Skeet Ulrich - Scream), are joined by George Clyde (Simon Baker - Here and Now) and Daniel (Jeffrey Wright - Hold The Dark), a man he had formerly enslaved, as they seek revenge against the union army for the death of Jack’s father. Jack has a short romance with Sue Lee Shelley (Jewel - Lost in America) before tragedy strikes, and Jake must step in to take care of his friend’s newborn baby before joining Quantrill's famous Kansas raid.
