Financial TV host Lee Gates (George Clooney - Gravity) is well known for his picks of the hottest stocks on the market as host of the television show "Money Monster." During a live broadcast, an irate investor Kyle Budwell (Jack O’Connell - Unbroken) storms into the studio, taking Lee hostage and blaming him for his losses. As Lee tries to plead with Kyle, his longtime producer Patty (Julia Roberts - Closer) is speaking to him through his earpiece. Together, they must try to diffuse this extreme situation.
