The English Patient (1996)Movies

Set in the midst of WWII, this tearjerker based on Michael Ondaatje’s novel focuses on four characters who find refuge in an Italian villa. The “English patient” (Ralph Fiennes - The Grand Budapest Hotel) is badly burned and tended to by Hana (Juliette Binoche - High Life), a young Canadian nurse, who is then joined by Kip (Naveen Andrews, Diana), a disillusioned British soldier, and Caravaggio (Willem Dafoe - The Lighthouse), an old friend of Hana’s father. As the war rages on around them, the mysterious patient’s identity comes out, and tensions rise.
