‘Now You See Me 2’ has nothing up its sleeve

“Horsemen reappear in London; world holds its breath,” blares a newspaper headline in this sequel, rather overestimating the world’s fascination with magicians — as well as its recall of the first movie, which was three years ago and not all that memorable even then.

“Now You See Me 2” resurrects the gang of magician/benevolent con artists known as the Four Horsemen. Jesse Eisenberg works in his comfort zone as neurotic genius J. Daniel Atlas; Dave Franco is card sharp Jack Wilder; Woody Harrelson is both hypnotist Merritt McKinney and, this time around, his evil twin brother, differentiated with a terrible perm.
