This weekend’s new movie releases includes one of the most clever and tight thrillers I’ve seen in a while and one of the most torturous, left-wing PC movies I’ve seen in the last several years. Remember, this is August, the Pet Cemetery of movies, where Hollywood sends bad movies to die a quick, painless death.

* “The Gift“: This is the clever, tight psychological thriller I told you about. It deserves better placement than August. The more I thought about this movie after seeing it, the better I liked it. It’s smart, suspenseful, and well-written. One of the my favorite actors, Joel Edgerton, wrote, directed, and stars in this. It’s entertaining and quickly moves along....
